2 for 1: OOTD + What to wear to my 25th birthday Celebration

Good morning my wonderful readers!! What do you all have planned today? I have to pay a visit to a couple of shoe stores to find my birthday heels! Wish me luck! I should have posted this yesterday but I was tired from work and had no energy to do a post :( My sister called me last night and asked me where is the post for Friday? So I said that I would do a post in the morning. Yesterday was casual day at work. I went to work very casual as you can see. I just wanted to be comfortable. Since it is quite early in the morning I don’t have much to talk about today. I just wanted to show you what I wore yesterday and to show you the looks that I put together for my birthday celebration.

The first part of my birthday celebration is at an upscale club which means my guests and I will be getting FANCY! A few of my friends needed some ideas on what they should wear, so below are some looks that I have put together for both men and women.

Don’t laugh

I would like to apologize for the lack of posting that I have done this past week. I was sick last weekend and I was trying my hardest to get over that cold. My energy was extremely low which meant I had no desire to post :( . Hopefully this week will run more smoothly and I will be back to posting each day again.

Anyways, my cousin had a birthday party last weekend. He turned 1 years old and it was held at a park. I wore the outfit above↑ to the birthday party!

I’ve had that polka dot striped shirt for a while and never wore it so I was uber excited to wear it last weekend with some shorts and wedges. Since I haven’t really been taking pictures of what I’ve been wearing I decided to show you the items that I received from E.L.F and some cute tops that I bought in NYC/MIA. Enjoy.

So please don’t laugh at me when I tell you all this but I had no clue about Eyes Lips Face. I always bought my make-up out of Sephora or at a drug store. Every time I have went to Target I never saw the E.L.F area so I had no clue this place existed. I just so happened came across the website last week and when I told one of my friends at work about it she was like “Yea girl, I use a lot of ELF’s makeup” lol. I just couldn’t believe that I have went this long without knowing about the makeup sold at target. I bought this particular eyeshadow pallet because it is for everyday wear. I don’t wear makeup to work but I want to start wearing a little of it but I want it to look natural. Since this pallet was at a good price and had step by step instructions, why not purchase it? I plan to try it out this week. Wish me luck!

Well folks, that is about it for me. My allergies are messing with me which has caused my lip to swell up a little bit. I had my heart set on going to church this morning but I don’t feel comfortable going in public until my lips goes down.

Oh and by the way I found my birthday dress yesterday!! Now all I need to do is find some cute heels to go with it as well as a birthday dinner outfit. I turn 25 two weeks from tomorrow and I am so ready for my car insurance to go down and look for health insurance quotes which will grow. ! lol. Thanks for reading and have a blessed Sunday!

Such a disappointment

Good morning everyone! I thought I’d share some sad news. Recognize this bag? It was on my wishlist and I used this bag in a post that I did a few weeks ago. I thought that it was going to be a cute summer bag so I asked my sister to buy the bag for me for my birthday. Turns out the bag is incredibly small. I carry big purses and my sister even said that this purse would be too small for my liking. Oh well. It was a #fail but I will find another summer bag.

Does anyone know where I could find a cute summer bag?

ASW is Spreading the news: UK Style by French Connection is sold at SEARS!

So I am home on Saturday night ☹ so of course I want to blog lol. I thought that I would share some news with you. Some of you all may have heard about this new line but I am going to talk about it anyway for those that may not know. Today, I was walking through Sears and I saw some stylish clothing that caught my eye so I glanced over and saw a section called UK style by French Connection. Now we’ve all heard of French Connection and everyone knows that there clothing can be a little pricey for some of our pockets. The company has come up with a lower end line that sells clothes at more reasonable prices! UK Style hit stores March 15, 2011!

Distracted

 

Hello my lovely readers!! As we all know Spring is FINALLY here! Well….the weather has changed for the majority of southern states but NOT for the Northern States. My sister lives in DC and she told me yesterday that it is still cold and I was just in NYC last weekend and it was freezing there as well.

Well today I went out for lunch and decided to wear some items out of my closet that I haven’t gotten a chance to wear yet. When I put this outfit together I knew that I wanted to incorporate some color into my outfit so that it wouldn’t look too dull. So I paired the skirt and shirt with these cute yellow flower thong sandals. They are super comfortable and I really like the color.

Anyways, my pictures didn’t turn out the best because I wasn’t wearing sunglasses and it was very sunny outside…Which means that my eyes look really CHINKY! My date was taking the pictures for me and he did a good job taking pictures of me and also when I was distracted. That is why I gave this post that name. Well turns out the distracted looks looked better than me actually looking at the camera. I hope you all will still enjoy this post and also my OOTD!

My day went really well. The food was good as well as the conversation. The weather was also great as well today. Hot and Sunny! In a few weeks I want to head to the beach!! That is next on my agenda. Let’s take a look at the details of my outfit ↓.

I love this shirt. I purchased it while I was on Spring break in DC at a store called Filene’s Basement! The store sells designer clothing at discounted prices. I purchased this Romeo and Juliet Couture shirt at the price of $6.99!! Can you believe it? It was originally a $40 shirt. I was too excited!!

I’ve had this zig zag H & M skirt for a couple of months now. I bought it when I was in DC last October. I do plan on wearing this skirt with other tops that I have in my closet. It can be dressed up or down which is pretty neat.

I stated earlier in my post that Spring is here and in full affect down here in the south. My good friend Nykenya put together some really cute Spring looks! These outfits can be worn to work, on a lunch date, to an outside concert, bar-b-que, etc. Enjoy.

MAXI Dresses under $50!!!

Last Monday, a few of my girlfriends and I went on a boat ride around the Miami Beach area. It was very nice and relaxing. I think I mentioned to you all that morning before I left my house that we were all on Spring Break so we decided to do something fun. We were able to see the different celebrities homes such as Ricky Martin, Shakira, Diddy, Gloria Estefan, and many others. If you are ever in the Miami area I would definitely suggest that you partake in one of the boat rides that the city has to offer.

This past weekend while I was out of town I received a message from a young lady asking me where did I buy the maxi dress that I wore on the boat ride (She saw the picture on FB). I told her that I bought it at a store in the Sawgrass Mills mall called Sirus last summer. Spring is here and to help you all out I have put together a set of Maxi dresses that you may be interested in purchasing or you may just want to get some ideas.
