ASW Reviews: Kohl’s Cares-Fila Sport Performance Collection

Good Morning Lovelies!! I hope everyone’s morning got off to a great start. This week is Teacher Appreciation Week so we were praised in an assembly for our hard work this morning! Anywho, as many of you all know last month I did a review post on Kohl’s Cares products. Well, this month I was sent a few items from the Fila Sport Performance Collection at Kohl’s. The items are of course geared towards Breast Cancer Awareness/Support and would come in handy when I exercise.

Yesterday I went to the gym and I wore three out of the four items that I received. I absolutely love the shorts. They are comfortable and are great quality. I love the mixture of pink and black! These will be worn a lot. The heart tee shirt is sporty and chic. I like the way it fit and I am sure I will be able to get a lot of wear out of it.

I also wore the racerback sports bra underneath my shirt and it was very comfortable. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to wear the sports bra with the shorts by itself since they both are a great match! Lastly, the headband will surely come in handy on those days when I need my hair to be up and out of my face. For those of you who run marathons this headband would be perfect for you. All of the items that I received were great and will be put to great use! In this day and age it is extremely important that we stay in shape and take care of ourselves. So why not exercise in style?

The pictures and prices of the items I received from Kohl’s are shown below ↓

These items are available from April 30 through the end of July at Kohl’s 40 Wisconsin stores and online at WWW.Kohls.Com. With each item costing only $5 and $10 each, 100% of the net profit will go to supporting the fight against breast cancer!

Thanks for stopping by ✌.

Schooling Life: Nude Love

Good Morning Lovelies!! I’ve been M.I.A for about a week but I’ve so busy. As many of you know, I was a co-host for C.Michelle’s  Beauty and Fashion Blogger Meet and Greet this past Thursday night at Soyka Restaurant. I should be sharing with you all the pictures from the event in a few days so stay tuned for that. I’ve also been working on another event that I will be co-hosting with the lovely Shea of Curves and Confidence which will take place May 5th. I will share more information with you all in another post as well.

Anywho, really quickly I just wanted to share with you all what I wore yesterday to work. I saw Think Like a Man this past weekend and it was extremely funny and sweet. My favorite actress in the movie was of course Taraji P. Henson. She is one of my favorite actresses and she really puts her all in every role that she has ever been given. I absolutely loved her style and hair in the movie. Her look was classic and chic. She inspired me to get up yesterday morning and dress up a little differently than the norm.

So I won a Target gift card from Whitney of Nics-picks blog a few weeks ago and I also had another gift card from Target so I headed on over and picked up some goodies. I’ve been searching for a pair of nude pumps that weren’t that high so that I would be able to wear them to work. So I couldn’t leave the store with out bringing these home with me. I lasted the whole day in them and received a few compliments on them. Thanks Whitney!

NCBW 100: Women in Leadership Breakfast 2012

Greetings my lovely ASW readers!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Weekend! It is always great to get together with family and friends to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I actually attended a different church yesterday because one of my friend’s baby was being dedicated and I pride myself on being there for as much as I can when it comes to the people who I am close to. I enjoyed the service and I wouldn’t mind visiting Logos Baptist Church in the near future.

Anywho, this past Saturday morning myself and a few other lovely ladies attended the National Coalition of 100 Black Women’s Leadership Breakfast at Jungle Island in Miami, Florida. There were six panelists who provided us with great knowledge on how to be successful with anything and everything that you plan to do. They encouraged us to look at where we are right now and plan that next step in our lives. I am twenty-five years old and I feel as though I need to use my 20′s as my grind period because in a couple of years I plan to get married and start a family. I will use this time to plan my life and keep my priorities in check. My biggest fear is that I will look back 5 years from now and wish I would have done this and that differently. I am glad that I was able to attend this breakfast because it has altered my outlook on life.

Panelists (L to R): Katy Soreson,Nikki Lewis Simon,Esq.,Violette Sproul,Laurinda Andujar,Annette Taddeo Goldstein, and Donna L. Ginn

(Dress)AB Studio $23.99/(Cardigan)Lord & Taylor/(Shoes)Steve Madden/(Belt)OLD/(Clutch)Banana Republic/(Earrings/Cuff)XXI

I picked up this dress at Kohls during their Easter sale. I loved the fit of it and I knew I would be able to wear this dress again during the Spring and Summer season. The middle of the dress was a little big so I added a skinny belt to give it a better fit. I find myself shopping at Kohls almost every weekend and mainly because I find a 20% off coupon to their store each week which is always a plus. Especially considering the fact that 90% of their merchandise is consistently on sale. They have the cutest Spring dresses right now so I suggest that you head on over and check them out.

Iris and I

Aren’t we colorful?? A few of my lovely friends!! See you ladies April 19th at 6PM!!

*If you are in the Miami/Ft.Lauderdale area and you are a blogger or read blogs I would love to meet and hang out with you at the Beauty/Fashion Blogger Meet and Greet on April 19, which is hosted by C.Michelle of CMichelleStyles and Co-hosted by myself, Sche of Curves and Confidence and Jillian of NuSophisticate. Schooling Life: Green Kitten Heels

Good Morning lovelies!! It’s Wednesday! Yesterday I wore this outfit to work and since it was a nice day outside I thought I should take a few pictures so that I could participate in Laura’s Work It Wednesday link up on her blog A Little Big of Lacquer. As you all know, I am a teacher and the majority of us are not into wearing high heels especially if you teach at the elementary level. I do wear heels here and there but for the most part I’m usually rocking flats. Since its the spring time I decided to mix some of my spring tops with my work attire.

So with that being said I pulled out my floral top and green kitten peep toe heels! I knew I would be able to survive in these heels all day since they aren’t that high.

(Cardigan)H&M/(Top)XXI/(Pants)Mango/(Shoes)Nine West/(Belt)OLD/(Earrings)ALDO/(Necklace)XXI/(Bracelet)Gift

These shoes are so comfortable! It has been about 3 years or more since I’ve worn these shoes. I guess they have been hiding in my closet lol.

I’ve had this top for a while and I would have to say that it is one of my favorites. I usually wear it with jeans or my green peasant skirt.

Alright folks I hope you all have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by ✌.

Florida’s Finest Guest Blogging Series: Disguised by NuSophisticate

Hello to all you sassy readers out there! My name is Jillian and you can find me blogging at NuSophisticate.com. My blog focuses on easy ways to stay chic both at work and after hours. I am extremely honored and super excited to close out Ashley’s Florida’s Finest series. It’s exciting to know that there are so many fabulous bloggers in Florida, and I for one, plan on visiting them all regularly!

Though Florida is a beautiful place to reside, the sweltering temps can really put a wrench in a fashionistas plans. I’m sure we’ve all gotten dolled up, stepped one foot outside the door, and immediately turned around to change into shorts and a tank to avoid melting down the avenues. Though shorts and a tank go hand in hand with a hot Florida day, the combo can significantly limit the number of places you can go. So, if you’re looking for another spin on the short/tank combo, the outfit below may be for you. It can leave you feeling just as cool and appropriately dressed for countless occasions.

Blouse: Mango

Shorts/Maxi skirt: Forever 21

Heels: Steve Madden

Purse: Fendi

Glasses: Gucci

Though it looks like a skirt, these are really shorts disguised as a maxi skirt. I purchased this short/maxi skirt combo at Forever 21 and I’m officially in love with the idea. You still get all the ventilation needed to get through a hot summer day while being a little more covered up. This outfit took me from pizza with my husband to a birthday dinner for my niece.

I paired my “shorts” with this blouse from Mango. Though this isn’t a tank top, it’s still lightweight and, therefore, perfect for cooling off. Also, the exaggerated armholes go a long way in keeping the body cool.

Finally, I added a little punch to the outfit with a pair of Steve Madden leopard platform sandals. I love the way that the leopard looks next to the polka-dots.

There you have it ladies, a really easy way to stay cool and look chic all summer long.

Feel free to visit me anytime at www.NuSophisticate.com.

Lots of Love,

Jillian

::ASW Speaking:: Love and adore this outfit. I love the skirt paired with leopard platform heels. It’s an eclectic look!

Florida’s Finest Guest Blogging Series: We NEVER pay retail by The Prissy Shopper

My darlings! What an awesome opportunity to share my shopping philosophy with the wonderful Sassy readers of A Sassy Woman blog. My name is Dionne Dean and at Prissyshopper.com, I show my readers that Prissy girls know how to make that gorgeous cardigan you got at the Salvation Army look like Chanel!

If you’re from around these parts, you know that South Florida is full of outdoor festivals, markets and concerts year round. The frugal fashionista knows that there really is no time for digging through the Chloe Marcie for the $5 to purchase that beautiful vintage pair of earrings ;-) So this past week, I went hunting through the stores and online sites to find a few cute wristlet purses and finally discovered a few at ASOS.com.

First is the pink and red number I bought for $37.60 down from the retail price of $62.67. That’s almost 50% off. I can see myself rocking this with a cute little jean jumper or a simple black maxi dress since the colors are so vibrant.

Second is this silver and tan piece for $17.91 down from $44.76, that’s a 60% markdown. Loving that! It’s a lot larger than I thought, but fabulous nonetheless. I’m envisioning wearing this to an outdoor market or lunch with the rest of the Florida’s Finest ladies.

Well my loves, this is a quick introduction to who Prissyshopper.com is. Prayerfully, you’ll stop by and see more of my frugal shopping. Lovely meeting and you and remember, we NEVER pay retail!!!

::ASW Speaking:: The bags are really cute. My absolute favorite is the pink and purple one. It’s perfect for the Spring/Summer time. Thanks again Dionne!
